Storm Photos, and a HUGE Thanks!

With the change in the weather on the Great Plains, the chances for severe storm activity have waned so photographer Tom Uhlman and writer Mary Kay Carson have headed home to Ohio. We are so grateful for the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity of storm chasing with such fabulous scientists. Thank you!

Purdue University’s Observing Tornadic Thunderstorms for Research (SPOTTR) Severe Storms Field Work team has started to make its way from Oklahoma towards Indiana with a Saturday ETA. Hopefully they’ll get lucky and be able to intercept some storms on en route back. Stay tuned!

Meanwhile, here are some fantastic images that didn’t fit into earlier posts—strange clouds (Kelvin Helmholtz waves), windmills, horizon-to-horizon storms, and weather balloons rising into endless skies. Enjoy!
